Tesla has regained the global pure electric vehicle (EV) crown for the first time since the fourth quarter of 2024, after its deliveries rose 6.5 per cent year on year in the three months ending March. The modest increase was enough for the US carmaker to beat China’s EV king BYD, which posted a 25.5 per cent drop in sales during the first quarter of 2026. Tesla’s deliveries worldwide between January and March hit 358,023 units, it said in a statement on Thursday. Tesla builds only pure electric...
Sales of imported vehicles in Korea rose 34.6 percent in March from a year earlier, supported by more working days and robust demand for electric vehicles (EVs), industry data showed Friday. New registrations increased to 33,970 units last month from 25,229 a year earlier, according to the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA). The three best-selling models in March were all from U.S. EV maker Tesla – the Model Y, Model 3 Long Range and Model 3. Tesla's sales more than quadrupled to 11,130 units last month from 2,591 a year earlier. Sales at BYD Korea surged to 1,664 units from 10 over the same period. The unit of China's BYD began local operations in January last year, with sales first reported in March. By powertrain, fully electric vehicles accounted for 47.8 percent of total registrations, or 16,249 units, followed by hybrids at 42.9 percent, gasoline models at 8.7 percent and diesel vehicles at 0.5 percent. It's rough out there for the pure EV companies, but despite all the challenges, Rivian says its on target for a historic year. Ahead of the launch of the company's more affordable R2 electric SUV, Rivian released its sales and production report for the first quarter of 2026. And the numbers were surprisingly good. Rivian sold 10,365 vehicles in the first three months of the year, a 20 percent increase year over year. And it produced 10,236 vehicles at its factory in Normal, Illinois, which represents a 30 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The company also reaffirmed its prediction that it will sell 62,000-67,000 vehic … Read the full story at The Verge.

The first quarter of last year wasn’t a high bar to begin with.
Tesla's first quarter sales report is out, and depending on how you look at it, the numbers are good but also bad. The company's sales are up a modest 6 percent year over year, but that's probably not the best way of looking at it considering the extraordinary circumstances surrounding Tesla - Elon Musk's Nazi salute, DOGE, Tesla Takedown protests - at the start of 2025. Tesla's sales were down a whopping 13 percent that quarter, so a modest increase was expected. Instead analysts are looking at how this quarter stacks up against the previous one, and they're not finding a lot to like. Tesla said it delivered 358,023 vehicles to customers, … Read the full story at The Verge.
It's become an American truism: Once you buy an SUV, there's no going back. And our love affair with pickups has been documented in a million country songs and TV commercials. But a brutal spike in gasoline prices - nipping $4 nationwide for a gallon of unleaded, up from $3 when the bombs first began to fall on Iran - has some car shoppers considering energy-saving alternatives. arXiv:2508.00947v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Robotic middleware is fundamental to ensuring reliable communication among system components and is crucial for intelligent robotics, autonomous vehicles, and smart manufacturing. However, existing robotic middleware often struggles to meet the diverse communication demands, optimize data transmission efficiency, and maintain scheduling determinism between Orin computing units in large-scale L4 autonomous vehicle deployments. This paper presents RIMAOS2C, a service discovery-based hybrid network communication middleware designed to tackle these challenges. By leveraging multi-level service discovery multicast, RIMAOS2C supports a wide variety of communication modes, including multiple cross-chip Ethernet protocols and PCIe communication capabilities. Its core mechanism, the Message Bridge, optimizes data flow forwarding and employs shared memory for centralized message distribution, reducing message redundancy and minimizing
