Samsung SDI said Monday it will display a sample of its all-solid-state battery pouch under development for physical artificial intelligence (AI) applications during the three-day InterBattery 2026 trade show starting Wednesday in Seoul. SK On Co., a major South Korean battery manufacturer, has laid off nearly 1,000 workers at its U.S. battery plant in Georgia amid slowing electric vehicle (EV) demand, a company filing showed Saturday. SK Battery America Inc., SK On's U.S. unit, dismissed 968 employees at its battery manufacturing facility in Commerce, Georgia, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice posted on a Georgia state website. The layoffs reportedly account for about 37 percent of the plant's total workforce of around 2,500 employees. The company said the workforce reduction was part of restructuring efforts prompted by slowing EV sales and changing market conditions. The decision was also made to adjust operations while maintaining its commitment to the state of Georgia and efforts to build a strong U.S. supply chain for advanced battery manufacturing. Hyundai Motor on Thursday launched an updated version of its flagship Ioniq 9 electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) in Korea with enhanced convenience features across all trims, the company said. In the entry-level Exclusive trim, Hyundai Motor added second-row ventilated and swiveling seats as standard features. The Prestige trim now includes water-repellent front windows, while the top-tier Calligraphy trim comes with heated third-row seats as standard. Hyundai Motor also expanded premium design elements previously available only in the top trim to the Prestige trim to enhance the vehicle's appeal. However, current planning algorithms still face limitations in planning efficiency due to inflexible strategies and weak adaptability. To address this, this paper proposes a multi-mode hybrid trajectory planning method for UAVs based on real-time environmental awareness, which dynamically selects the optimal planning model for high-quality trajectory generation in response to environmental changes. First, we introduce a goal-oriented spatial awareness method that rapidly assesses flight safety in the upcoming environments. Second, a multi-mode hybrid trajectory planning mechanism is proposed, which can enhance the planning efficiency by selecting the optimal planning model for trajectory generation based on prior spatial awareness. Using a hybrid systems framework, a hybrid algorithm is proposed allowing the estimate to converge to the exact value of the unknown parameters in predetermined finite time. Interestingly, we show that for the case of constant parameters, the convergence property of the hybrid algorithm holds while only requiring the regressor to be exciting on a given interval. For the case of piecewise constant parameters, the classical persistency of excitation condition is required to guarantee the convergence. Robustness of the proposed algorithm with respect to measurements noise is analysed. Finally, illustrative examples are provided showing the merits of the proposed approach in terms of scalability and the applicability for the general class of time-varying unknown parameters
