HD Hyundai Electric is intensifying its push into the North American power market, securing orders for ultra-high-voltage equipment and unveiling its next-generation technology road map at the region’s largest power industry exhibition, the IEEE PES Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exposition. The biennial exhibition, held Monday through Thursday (local time) in Chicago, brought together around 900 energy companies, including global industry leaders such as ABB, Siemens Energy and Hitachi Energy. On the sidelines to the exhibition, the company announced it signed a deal worth a total of 173 billion won ($119 million) with a major utility company in the United States to supply 765-kilovolt (kV) ultra-high-voltage transformers and reactors. With the new deal, the company will take part in the 765kV backbone project under the Southwest Power Pool’s (SPP) long-term transmission master plan for the south-central U.S. The SPP region, which spans parts of 17 states, is one of the

A leaf may appear to be one of the simplest structures in nature, thin, delicate and easily overlooked. At first glance, it seems far removed from the complex systems that scientists usually describe as networks. Yet, as we began to examine leaves more closely, we realized that each one contains a remarkably sophisticated venation system that performs multiple essential functions simultaneously.

arXiv:2605.03599v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Tokamaks and stellarators are the leading magnetic-confinement concepts for fusion, but they rely on complementary design principles. Tokamaks use simple axisymmetric coils and plasma current, whereas stellarators use externally generated three-dimensional fields for steady-state operation. Here, we propose a programmable stellarator--tokamak hybrid that uses a fixed set of simple planar coils to access a broad magnetic-configuration space. The device adds 288 dipole-field coils to a tokamak-like coil set, with only six independent coil geometries required by symmetry. By programming coil currents, the same hardware generates more than 1.66 million optimized stellarator configurations spanning quasi-axisymmetry, quasi-helical symmetry, and quasi-isodynamicity, as well as tokamak-relevant three-dimensional perturbations. Representative configurations exhibit nested magnetic surfaces, low neoclassical transport, and favorable
arXiv:2605.03662v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: In this work, a novel method for planar task and motion planning based on hybrid modeling is proposed. By virtue of a discrete variable which models local constraint satisfaction and enables local feasibility analysis, the proposed control architecture unifies planning with control design. Concurrently, control barrier functions are designed on a transformed disk version of the original nonconvex and geometrically complex robotic workspace, thus amending the issue of deadlocks. Simulations of the proposed method indicate effective handling of multiple overlapping spatio-temporal tasks even in the face of input saturation.

arXiv:2605.02489v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: As the ecosystem of Large Language Model (LLM)-based agents expands rapidly, efficient and accurate Agent Discovery becomes a critical bottleneck for large-scale multi-agent collaboration. Existing approaches typically face a dichotomy: either relying on heavy-weight LLMs for intent parsing, leading to prohibitive latency (often exceeding 30 seconds), or using monolithic vector retrieval that sacrifices semantic precision for speed. To bridge this gap, we propose \textbf{GRAIL} (Granular Resonance-based Agent/AI Link), a novel framework achieving sub-400ms discovery latency without compromising accuracy. GRAIL introduces three key innovations: (1) \textbf{SLM-Enhanced Prediction}, replacing the generalized LLM parser with a specialized, fine-tuned Small Language Model (SLM) for millisecond-level capability tag prediction; (2) \textbf{Pseudo-Document Expansion}, augmenting agent descriptions with synthetic queries to enhance semantic
arXiv:2605.01519v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: We introduce Hybrid Convolutions with Attention Stochasticity (HyCAS), an adversarial defense that narrows the long-standing gap between provable robustness under L2 certificates and empirical robustness against strong L attacks, while preserving strong generalization across diverse imaging benchmarks. HyCAS unifies deterministic and randomized principles by coupling 1-Lipschitz, spectrally normalized convolutions with two stochastic components, spectral normalized random, projection filters and a randomized attention-noise mechanism, to realize a randomized defense. Injecting smoothing randomness inside the architecture yields an overall

Online shopping sales in Korea rose 13.3 percent from a year earlier to a new monthly high in March, driven by strong demand for Tesla vehicles and transactions in food services, government data showed Monday. The value of online shopping stood at 25.58 trillion won ($17.37 billion) in March, up 3.03 trillion won from a year earlier, according to the data from the Ministry of Data and Statistics. The figure marked the highest monthly level since 2017, when the ministry began compiling related data. Spending on automobiles and auto accessories surged 109.9 percent from a year earlier, supported by Tesla models sold through online ordering systems. Sales of food services climbed 14.2 percent from a year earlier, while that of food and beverages jumped 13.3 percent on-year, the latest findings showed. Purchases made through smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices rose 11.6 percent from a year earlier to 19.4 trillion won, also setting a new record.
Sales of Hyundai Motor and Kia vehicles in the United States fell slightly from a year earlier, while numbers for hybrid vehicles rose to a new monthly high, the automaker said Monday. The Korean automakers sold a combined 159,216 vehicles in the key American market in April, down 2.1 percent on-year, according to the companies. Hyundai Motor sold 86,513 units, down 1.5 percent from the previous year. Its luxury vehicle brand Genesis sold 6,356 units, up 0.8 percent on-year. Kia's sales declined by 2.8 percent from the previous year to 72,703 units. The overall sales decline was due to a base effect from a sales surge last year, as customers rushed to purchase cars ahead of the imposition of Washington's auto tariffs, according to the company. Sales of eco-friendly cars, including electric vehicles (EVs), however, rose 47.6 percent on-year to 48,425 units. Demand for hybrid cars also grew by the sharpest 57.8 percent on-year, affected by the U.S. government's decision to terminate EV
Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) fleet has crossed the 10 billion mile mark, according to the automaker’s updated safety page. It’s the threshold that CEO Elon Musk himself set earlier this year as the data milestone needed for “safe unsupervised” driving. The achievement represents a massive acceleration in data collection — the fleet was logging roughly 29 million miles per day by late April, up from 14 million miles per day at the start of the year.
