SK Innovation E&S, a major energy solutions developer, has completed a liquefied hydrogen charging station at Incheon International Airport, the company said Thursday, calling it the world’s first airport-based facility designed to support carbon neutrality. Built on a 2,771-square-meter site inside the Terminal 2 parking garage, the station can supply up to 320 kilograms of liquefied hydrogen per hour, enough to fully charge as many as 240 hydrogen buses a day. The station is supplied by SK Innovation E&S’ liquefied hydrogen production plant in Incheon’s Seo District, about 25 kilometers from the airport. The plant produces 90 tons of liquefied hydrogen per day, or about 30,000 tons annually, and is operated with the company’s own logistics system. According to SK Innovation E&S, it is the world’s largest facility of its kind. The company expects the new station to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen-powered buses serving the country’s largest airport. Of the 68 shuttle buses

The vehicle posted top-tier results across all major evaluation categories, including adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, vulnerable road user protection and safety assist technologies. The achievement extends Hyundai’s recent five-star streak, following the IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6 and IONIQ 9 electric vehicles (EVs). In adult occupant tests, the passenger compartment remained stable in the frontal offset test, with good protection of the knees, femurs and all critical body regions for both driver and passenger, the carmaker said.
